I am excited to let you know that we at Seasons Wealth are going to focus on life insurance in the month of May. Why, might you ask? Life insurance is a topic that most people don't like to think about or don't like to think about very often. However, it is a most important part of the foundation of a good financial plan.
You've probably all heard about an ex-spouse who inherited a fortune because beneficiaries weren't up to date. This is just one of many examples of why we can't ignore the topic.
Our goal for May is to make sure that we, as a team, understand what our clients have, why they have it, if their insurance is in order, and if they are over-insured or under- insured. We will be suggesting that some clients need to cancel their insurance, some clients need to buy life insurance, and some clients need to update their insurance policies. We will be checking on policies to be certain that our clients don't own policies that are in jeopardy of lapsing.
To prepare for a comprehensive review of your life insurance plan, you'll want to start going through your electronic and paper files and start getting the information to Michelle and me. You'll also want to start making a list of questions. You could even collect social security numbers, addresses, and dates of birth for your beneficiaries.
In my professional opinion, there aren't enough financial advisors who have a thorough understanding of every client's insurance plan to include all of the smaller, yet important, details. This is one way that we want to set ourselves apart here at Seasons Wealth.
